Make a GIANT Difference for Local Patients This Summer

Stanford Blood Center has a need for all blood types, particularly type O and is urging the public to donate.

Roughly every two seconds, someone needs blood. It may be someone you know.

We’ve all heard that blood donations are needed in an emergency, but did you know that blood is also needed every day for routine surgeries and procedures like cancer treatment, transplants, cardiac procedures, c-sections, and transfusions for sickle cell patients? Blood donations help patients like 10-year-old Hadley who required 13 transfusions during her treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She is thriving today due to the generosity of her anonymous blood donors.

Each blood donation can save up to three lives, making it an incredibly rewarding experience! In addition to helping local patients in just about an hour of your time, you can also get some amazing bonuses for yourself in the process! (And yep… you get the cookies, too.)

Come in to donate at any of Stanford Blood Center’s centers or mobile drives this June 1-30, and you’ll be automatically entered to win one of 17 packages for two to enjoy a San Francisco Giants Fantasy Batting Practice Day at Oracle Field. You and a guest could take some swings from home plate, field a few balls with Giants alums, and take part in a Q&A session in the dugout with the alumni players. Lunch is included, too. This will be a day you’ll never forget!
