On Saturday, January 11, 2025, Stanford Blood Center (SBC) will partner with the San Jose Sharks to host their annual “Save a Life” blood drive at the SAP Center at San Jose. This beloved event has become a staple of the Sharks community, with hundreds of fans and donors coming together each year to support the lifesaving mission of SBC.
The holiday season often brings a significant dip in blood donations due to travel, seasonal illnesses, and busy schedules, which makes January an especially critical time to replenish the blood supply. This drive is an example of what can be achieved when a community unites for a common goal. “We’re honored to team up with the Sharks again for our annual blood drive,” said Elisa Manzanares, SBC account manager. “This popular event offers fans a chance to combine their passion for hockey with the opportunity to make a lifesaving impact. Every blood donation helps patients in need, and we’re so grateful for the Sharks’ continued support in bringing the community together to save lives.”
As a special thank-you, donors will be entered to win exciting prizes:
1. Lots of Winners
• 96 donors will win a pair of tickets to the Tuesday, February 4, 2025, San Jose Sharks vs. Montreal Canadiens game.
2. Grand Prizes
• Five lucky donors will win tickets to a Penthouse Suite for the February 4 game:
• Four sets of four tickets
• One set of two tickets
3. Each donor will receive an exclusive Stanford Blood Center/Warriors sweatshirt, as pictured here.
