This spring, Stanford Blood Center (SBC) is giving donors a unique opportunity to help save lives and support the environment at the same time. As part of its #GreenDonor campaign, SBC is partnering with Forestmatic to allow donors to adopt a native California tree in Fresno and Tulare counties—regions deeply impacted by deforestation and wildfires.
“At Stanford Blood Center, we believe in the power of community, both in supporting patients through lifesaving blood donations and in caring for our environment,” said Harpreet Sandhu, CEO of SBC. “The #GreenDonor initiative is a way for donors to make a lasting impact beyond the donor chair, helping to restore vital ecosystems.”
By donating blood and adopting a tree, participants will make a meaningful contribution to both the health of patients in need and the future of California’s forests.
To learn more about the #GreenDonor campaign, please visit Stanford Blood Center’s website.
Appointments can be made online at stanfordbloodcenter.org, via the SBC app, or by calling 888-723-7831 or texting to 999-777. Walk-ins are always welcome.
Donors should be in good health with no cold, flu, or COVID-19 symptoms. Be sure to eat well prior to donation, drink fluids, and bring a photo ID. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (or 16 with a parent or guardian’s consent). Eligibility information can be found at stanfordbloodcenter.org/eligibility or by calling 888-723-7831.
